Being a good and caring neighbour to the communities around our plants has long been part of Brunner Mond’s philosophy.
Links with local schools, local authorities and charities, programmes to support students and initiatives to promote health, community spirit or local heritage are all facets of the company’s involvement with its communities.
Amongst its current activities the company is a major sponsor of the Lion Salt Works Trust, a local heritage project and of the Weaver Valley Initiative, part of the Mersey Basin Campaign.
The majority of our workforce live in the immediate areas around our plants and it is company policy to encourage active involvement in community life. Many of our people work with charities or serve on the boards and committees of local organisations.
Brunner Mond’s employees have established their own charity, The Brunner Mond Employees Charitable Trust, which provides support to good causes in the Mid-Cheshire area. Recent recipients of support from the Trust have included local hospitals, hospices, churches and schools as well as Cub and Scout groups, junior sports teams and local retirement homes.
