Flue Gas Treatment

The use of Sodium Bicarbonate has increased for the treatment of acidic flue gases, in response to the requirements of environmental legislation. Sodium Carbonate can also be used for certain applications. In response to this, Brunner Mond has developed Briskarb^® – a special branded offering of Sodium Bicarbonate to meet the needs of many different industries for flue gas treatment.

The application of Briskarb^® will develop further as new legislation and the increased cost of landfill waste disposal lead to the introduction of other disposal methods, such as energy from waste plants. The use of Briskarb^® has been shown to be more efficient and cost effective than alternative alkaline reagents.
