Tata Chemicals wins Mother Teresa Award for Corporate Citizen 2011

Mumbai: Tata Chemicals (TCL) won the prestigious Mother Teresa Award for Corporate Citizen 2011 instituted by Loyola Institute of Business Administration. The awards were given away during a formal presentation ceremony on February 17, 2012, at Chennai, in the presence of dignitaries from the government and industry.

Based on the criteria set by the jury, TCL was recognised for the following:

	For the company’s outstanding social commitment and commendable involvement in programmes of corporate responsibility far beyond the call of duty.
	For its unflinching adherence to its vision of leveraging science to deliver new and innovative offerings, goals that go far beyond business and fostering inclusive growth of India.
	For its abiding commitment to its mission of serving society through science by nurturing innovation as well as learning through diversity.
	For its endeavours towards maintaining the core values of business ethics and customer values, and holistic community development  and corporate sustainability programmes.
	For its deep involvement in programmes that promote entrepreneurship and initiatives for health and education of the underprivileged.
	For its excellence in environment stewardship and preservation of natural resources.

Speaking on the achievement, R Mukundan, managing director, Tata Chemicals, said, “The roots of being sustainable and contributing to social needs are embedded in our value system, which is also validated by our mission of ‘serving society through science'.
