A Sustainable Energy Plant for Brunner Mond
27 October 2009
Brunner Mond has formally submitted a 'Scoping Report' to DECC (the Department for Energy & Climate Change) as the first step in the approval process for a Sustainable Energy Plant, most likely to be based at our Lostock site, on the site of the present disused power station. We see this as an important development for the Company.
Securing a sustainable and affordable energy source is a key strategic imperative for our business. This project is an exciting development towards this goal. The attached leaflet will give you more details about how such a plant would operate. We shall be working on this with our current energy partners, E-ON.
This is a major project for the site and local area and it is important for people to be well informed about all aspects of the project. As has been our approach in the past, we will be consulting extensively about this project, which is, of course, in its very early stages at present. Local exhibitions will be held and we will ensure we provide full details of these.
This project is a potential key investment in securing our long term future.
To support the development of this proposal, we are creating a separate website devoted to the subject, and will confirm details of this shortly.
