Glass making is a diverse and key sector for soda ash. The nature of the continuous glass production process requires a reliable supply of raw materials of the highest quality and consistency.

Brunner Mond soda ash is used in the large scale production of flat glass for windows. In container glass manufacture - principally bottles and tableware - the market demand for "designer" products has brought about an expansion in the use of glass in preference to other materials.

Our soda ash is also a major component in the production of light bulbs and tubes as well as glass fibre for energy conservation. It is also used in such specialised applications as television screens, optical lenses and reflective road paint.
